About tradional switches
As shown in the following figure, there are three kinds of traditional lamp control switches which are widely used in our house, they are multi control switch, dual control switch and single control switch, the single control switch is in all kinds the simplest one. The function of these switches is to make the live wire connection or disconnection by on-off action. If we want to light up a lamp, we must make the live wire at the place of the lamp to be live by on-off action. If we want the lamp off, just cut off the live wire at the position of the switch, the live wire at the place of the lamp will be neutral. Therefore, when the lamp is on, the live wire at the place of the lamp is connected and live. When lamp is off, the live wire at the place of the lamp is disconnected and neutral.

What the online switches are
As shown in the following Figure, the online switches are actually only traditional switches (the traditional single switches) which are added diodes in parallel. The traditional single control switch can be regard as a leading wire, the online switch can be regarded as that a leading wire is parallel with a diode. When the leading wire is cut off by on-off action, the diode will be connected, half wave of AC will flow the diode, and the AC half wave can also make sure the live wire to be live, so the online switch is always on connected state at all time.

What the online switches are
As shown in following pictures, our innovational product, the online switch includes two parts, one is the switch itself which can be regarded as a signal sending terminal and another is a control circuit board which can be regarded as a signal receiving terminal. As a signal receiving terminal, the control circuit board receives the AC wave changes come from the online switch and converts these analog signals to corresponding digital signals in order to control the electric appliance which we want to control.
